Our story

If you're visiting this page you must be curious about how it all began. Well here's our story.............

We moved to the beautiful Ozarks in 2000 to a small community in Southern Missouri, where we have 85 acres on beautiful Bull Shoals Lake, and we love it. We moved from a big city in Georgia where everyone always seems to be in a hurry. Well its quite the opposite here. No body gets in a hurry. As a matter of fact we have to drive about 30 miles before we see a traffic light, and then there's only one. And we love it! In 1998 we purchased our first Australian shepherd, Max. That was the best decision we ever made. My husband refers to him as the Einstein of the K9.  Well not only was Max intelligent, but he was the most loving, protective, and loyal dog we had ever owned. He listened and learned our commands including other words, such as truck, lake, and cookies, just a few of his favorites. Max went everywhere with us and was always waiting for a chance to please us, which he has been doing now for more than a decade. We love our Max and the thought of losing him; well I’d rather not think about that. Max was always a very happy dog except when he would see other animals, even on the TV. He would cry. We knew something was wrong, Max wanted some of his own kind to play with, some doggie friends. So for the love of Max, and to carry on his genes in 2002 we decided to increase our family. I believe Max was the happiest dog in the world when we brought home three new friends, Roxie, Blizz, and Prissie, yes all girls. And that’s when our adventure began. We now have several Aussies all with their own personalities, and we love them all. And every time we have puppies there's always that thought, well maybe just one more. But our family is big enough. So by sharing our bundles of joy, we still get to love them and spoil them before they go to their new homes. And occasionally some of our puppies stay with us for several months before going to their new homes, that’s when its hard to let go because its so easy to get attached and I do. But unfortunately we can’t keep them all. Well I hope you decide to purchase a Double J. Aussie, just remember an Aussie is a life long commitment, and if you are ready, I promise you won't regret it.

Our ranch

Early every morning, weather permitting, our Aussies get to enjoy the freedom they deserve and need. They get acres and acres to run, play, and exercise, all day inside our fenced property. Several of our Aussies have gone to "working livestock" homes.

Our kennel

  • Our kennel is a 2200 sq. ft. climate controlled building with spacious individual stalls for our Aussies to rest at night.

The kennel has a full care facility that is used in providing our Aussies the attention they require for maxium health.

  • We also provide our puppies an open sheltered pen where they can get plenty of fresh air while maintaining a save environment.
